3. Installing Java Compiler (Coming Up Soon)

Java SDK and JRE

JSC Java require the Java compiler to build applications. Either the Java Standard Edition (SE) or the Enterprise Edition (EE) are suitable for this purpose.

The Java JRE is required to run your Java Applications and is included with the same SDK package.

Java SDK can be installed in any directory on your computer. It is recommended you install them in a central or default location so that Java versions can be properly tracked, as it is sometimes common for multiple versions of Java to reside in your computer.

To install Java SDK (includes JRE):

1. Download Java SE installer from this location:

    JSC currently supports version 6.

2. Run the installation program and follow the on-screen instructions.
